Testing is over.....finally.

My kiddos had testing this week. I had to have Jameson to Good Shepard Lutheran Church on Bogard by 7:45 and Katie to Fire-dance on Blue Lupine Rd by 8:15. Then when they were done testing I had to go and pick them up. Tues and Wed they both got done at different times. I would pick one up, get the kids all unloaded from the car seats, and the other child would call to be picked up. Tues and Wed I got up at 6 am to take a shower and be all geared up for a long day of running around.

Today wasn't like that at all. The alarm went off at 6 am and I reset it for 7 and went back to sleep knowing full well we had to be out the door by 7:30. So 7 am comes along and I make a mad dash to get all 4 kids up and out the door. I pourpously put Sophie to bed in cute exercise pants and shirt so I wouldn't have to dress her in the morning. Well when I got her out of bed she had put on Halloween orange striped pajama pants and a pink shirt with hello kitty on it. Her hair was frizzy and matted to her head on one side. I didn't have time to change her or fix her hair so in her car seat she went. I told Logan to get dressed so he put his cowboy boots on over his footed jammies and out the door he went. Luckily Jameson and Katie can dress themselves and do there own hair. The kids that depended on me were out of luck! We get to the testing sites and I had to drag all the kids in to sign Jamo and Katie in. Remember that I haven't had a shower either. I knew I looked bad when Katie kept saying "mom your hair looks so pretty" that is code for "what the heck is up with your hair?" I have the same issue as Sophia which is having naturally curly hair that is crazy in the mornings.

Now it gets even better. After I got home the plan was to dress everyone and take a shower before the kids call me to pick them up. Well I got sidetracked. I started reading Gillian's blog and when the kids wouldn't leave me alone, being the good mother I am , I gave them a sucker ( at 9:30) and told them to go watch TV.

A little background on the suckers: They were sealed in #10 can in my food storage in case of a emergency! Well Jeff decided it was an emergency the other night and opened them. He really had a sweet tooth. When you can food, all the oxygen is sucked out to preserve it longer. These suckers were special edition black cherry blow pops. The gum was as hard as a rock(lack of oxygen) and they turn your face, mouth, and tongue BLACK. The gum softens up after you chew on it for a while but they are really yummy.

Back to the story. I just finished Gillian's fabulously funny blog and the phone rang! I grabbed the kids and was going to dress them fast and the phone rang again! Both kids were ready to be picked up. I didn't have time to take a shower, dress the kids or get the black sucker off Sophia's face. I tried to rub a baby wipe on her face but it didn't work. When I got to Jameson's testing site I had to take the kids in looking worse than they did two hours before. I was so embarrassed. When I got to Katie's school I made jamo wait in the car with the little ones. I couldn't handle the embarrassment any more. No it is 7pm and Sophie and Logan are just getting out of the tub. I accomplished my morning tasks 12 hours late.

I am hoping tomorrow goes better! I doubt it because I have a dentist appointment at 12:00 due to eating one of those suckers! I cracked the temporary crown I had trying to soften the gum. Did I mention they are really really yummy though:)

Oh my gosh- I'm turning you into a task-challenged mom by distracting you with my task challenged whining :O!!! That is so funny about the suckers! Do you really need suckers in an emergency or are they just for fun?
